FAQ

Custom Uniform FAQs

Answers to the questions buyers ask most before ordering uniforms. Where an answer depends on your garment, quantity or branding, we explain what drives it — the exact figure is confirmed in your quotation.

Ordering and quotations

5 questions

How do I request a quotation for custom uniforms?

Use the quote request form or message us on WhatsApp with the garments, approximate quantities, colours, logo and the date you need the uniforms. Partial information is fine to start; missing details are clarified before the quotation is issued.

What information makes a quotation accurate?

Garment types, quantity per garment, preferred fabric or working conditions, colours, logo files and branding positions, an estimated size spread, delivery emirate and the in-use date. The staff uniform ordering checklist lists everything worth preparing.

What does a quotation include?

A written quotation states the garment and fabric, branding method and size, quantities, unit prices, any set-up or sample charges, the expected timeline, delivery arrangements and payment terms. Anything not stated on the quotation should not be assumed.

How should I compare quotations from different suppliers?

Compare like for like: fabric composition and GSM, branding method and logo size, sample arrangements, packing, delivery and payment terms. A lower unit price can reflect a lighter fabric or smaller logo. See how to compare uniform supplier quotations.

Can I order uniforms for several departments in one quotation?

Yes. A single quotation can cover several garments and role groups, with branding and packing specified per department. For ongoing needs, see corporate uniform programmes.

Minimum quantities and pricing

5 questions

What is your minimum order quantity?

Minimums depend on the garment, whether it is a stock item or made to specification, the fabric colour and the branding method. Stock garments with a logo usually have lower minimums than custom-dyed or cut-and-sew garments. The minimum for your specification is confirmed in writing on the quotation.

How much does a custom polo shirt cost?

Price depends on the fabric and GSM, the brand of blank garment or the production route, the branding method, logo size, number of branding positions and quantity. Your unit price is stated on the quotation. What a custom polo shirt costs in Dubai explains the cost drivers.

Why do prices fall with larger quantities?

Some costs are fixed per order or per design, such as embroidery digitising, print screens, sampling and production set-up. Spread across more garments, these add less to each unit price.

Are there set-up charges for logos?

Some branding methods involve set-up work, for example digitising a logo for embroidery or making screens for screen printing. Whether set-up charges apply, and how much, is itemised on the quotation.

Are prices quoted including VAT?

The quotation states whether prices include or exclude UAE VAT, so check this line when comparing quotations.

Fabrics and garments

5 questions

Which fabric is best for uniforms in UAE heat?

For active and outdoor roles, lightweight moisture-wicking polyester or polyester-rich blends are common. For indoor roles, cotton-rich or poly-cotton fabrics balance comfort and appearance. See the fabric guide and best fabrics for UAE weather.

What does GSM mean?

GSM is grams per square metre, a measure of fabric weight. Higher GSM usually feels thicker and more opaque but warmer; it is not a direct measure of quality. Read polo shirt GSM explained.

Which garments can be customised?

Common uniform garments include polo shirts, T-shirts, corporate shirts, work trousers, jackets, chef coats, scrubs, aprons, caps and workwear. Availability of specific styles and colours is confirmed on the quotation.

Do you offer modest-fit or women's cuts?

Many garments are available in women's or relaxed fits, and modest options such as longer sleeves and longer lengths can be specified. Available fits for each garment are confirmed on the quotation; the size guide explains how to plan them.

Are your high-visibility garments certified?

Certification applies to a specific garment, not to a supplier in general. Ask for the certificate or declaration of conformity for the exact garment on your quotation. See custom workwear for what to check.

Branding and customisation

5 questions

Should I choose embroidery or printing?

Embroidery gives a raised, durable finish suited to polos, shirts, jackets and caps. Printing suits larger designs, fine detail and T-shirts. Compare them in logo embroidery vs DTF printing.

What logo file format should I send?

A vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF with vector content) gives the cleanest result. High-resolution PNG files can sometimes work, but fine detail may need redrawing. See how to prepare a logo file.

Can each uniform have an employee's name on it?

Yes, names, titles or ID numbers can be added by embroidery or print. Supply a checked spreadsheet with one row per garment, and approve a proof before production. Personalisation usually adds time and cost per piece.

Can you match our brand colours?

Thread and print colours can be matched closely to brand references. Stock garments come in set colours, so the closest shade is chosen; custom fabric dyeing is possible for larger quantities, with a colour standard approved in advance.

Can we have our own labels in the garments?

Custom woven or printed labels are possible, typically for made-to-spec or larger orders. See custom labels and private label uniforms.

Delivery and timelines

5 questions

How long does a uniform order take?

It depends on stock availability, the customisation level, branding method, quantity, approval speed and whether a sample is needed. The expected timeline for your order is stated on the quotation. If you have a fixed date, mention it at enquiry.

What usually delays uniform orders?

Late size breakdowns, slow artwork or sample approvals, changes after approval and stock shortages in particular sizes or colours. See why uniform orders get delayed.

Do you deliver across the UAE?

Delivery locations, arrangements and any delivery charges are confirmed on the quotation. Tell us the delivery emirate and site address when you enquire.

Can a large order be delivered in stages?

Staged deliveries are common for multi-site rollouts and openings. Whether staging is possible for your order, and on what terms, is agreed in writing. See bulk uniform orders.

Can garments be packed per employee or department?

Packing by employee, department or site can be arranged. Agree the packing and labelling format before production so it is reflected on the quotation.

Samples and approvals

4 questions

Can I get a sample before placing a bulk order?

Samples are common for made-to-spec garments, custom colours and larger orders. Whether a sample is included for your order, and any charge for it, is set out on the quotation.

What is a mock-up?

A digital image of the garment showing your logo's position, size and colours. You approve it before production, and it becomes the reference for branding on the order.

What should I check before approving a sample?

Fabric feel and weight, colour against your standard, fit on staff of different sizes, logo position, size and colours, spelling, labels and overall finish. Once approved, the sample is the standard the bulk order is checked against.

How do I give approval?

In writing, by email or WhatsApp. Written approval provides a clear record of the agreed specification for production and future re-orders.

Repeat orders

4 questions

How do I re-order the same uniforms?

Send the garment references from your approved specification with new quantities by size and delivery details. A new quotation is issued referencing the approved specification.

Will re-ordered uniforms match the originals?

Using the approved spec sheet, logo files and colour standard keeps re-orders consistent. Slight shade differences between fabric dye lots can occur, so for colour-critical uniforms consider re-ordering whole teams together.

Can I order small top-ups for new joiners?

Yes, though minimums still apply depending on garment and branding. Many organisations combine joiner needs into periodic top-up orders or hold a small reserve. Applicable quantities are confirmed on the quotation.

Are prices the same for repeat orders?

Prices are quoted for each order, since fabric costs, quantities and stock availability can change. Some set-up work, such as an existing embroidery file, may not need repeating; this is reflected on the new quotation.
