Overview

About corporate jackets

Outerwear has a narrower role in the UAE than in colder markets, but it is still needed: for winter mornings and evenings, desert and coastal sites, cold stores, air-conditioned venues, motorcycle and van delivery, and as a smart branded layer at outdoor events. A good jacket is also a visible, long-lasting brand item that staff keep wearing.

The main types serve different purposes. Softshell jackets are stretchy, wind-resistant and smart enough for client-facing staff. Fleece jackets are warm and breathable for indoor and mild outdoor use. Gilets (body warmers) keep the core warm while leaving arms free. Windbreakers are light and packable. Padded jackets suit cold storage and winter night work. Water-resistance ratings vary by product, so ask for the specification if it matters.

Branding on jackets is usually embroidered, because it suits technical fabrics and lasts. Some coated or waterproof fabrics need care: needle holes can compromise water resistance, and heat transfers must be compatible with the coating. We will recommend a branding approach suited to the jacket you choose.

Fabrics

Fabric options

Common fabric options and where each works best. Compare fibres and weights in the fabric guide.

  • Softshell

Polyester with elastane, bonded to microfleece; often with a water-repellent finish

    280–340 GSM

Best for: Client-facing field staff and supervisors

Wind-resistant with stretch; breathable compared with fully waterproof shells.

  • Microfleece / polar fleece

    100% polyester

    180–300 GSM

Best for: Indoor air-conditioned spaces and mild outdoor conditions

Warm, light and quick-drying; can pill over time on lower-quality fleece.

  • Ripstop or taffeta shell

Polyester or nylon, often with water-repellent coating

Best for: Windbreakers, padded jackets and gilets

Weight is usually stated per square metre of shell rather than GSM; check wadding weight for warmth.

  • Padded / insulated

    Polyester shell with polyester wadding

Best for: Cold storage and winter night work

Warmth depends on wadding weight, quoted separately from the shell.

Customisation

Branding options

Each method suits different fabrics, logos and quantities. We confirm the method, size and position with a mock-up before production.

Common branding locations

  • Left chest
  • Right chest
  • Upper back
  • Sleeve
  • Hood
  • Zip puller

Availability of each method for your garment and quantity is confirmed on your quotation.

  • Logo embroidery

The usual choice for jackets. On waterproof shells, embroidery is often placed on outer panels before lining or on pockets to protect water resistance.

  • DTF printing

Suits larger back logos on softshell and fleece; check compatibility with water-repellent coatings first.

  • Screen printing

Possible on some shell fabrics with specialist inks; best for simple back designs.

  • Custom labels

Woven labels and zip-puller branding for premium or gift programmes.

Fabric care

Fabric and care information

Care that keeps colour, shape and branding looking right through repeated washing.

Poly-cotton blends

  • Usually tolerate 40 °C washing and frequent laundering
  • Medium iron; blends crease less than pure cotton
  • Check the label before commercial or industrial laundering

Cotton and cotton jersey

  • Wash at 30–40 °C, inside out, with similar colours
  • Avoid hot tumble drying to limit shrinkage
  • Avoid bleach on coloured garments

Branded areas

  • Turn garments inside out to protect prints and embroidery
  • Never iron directly over printed or transfer areas
  • Avoid harsh stain removers on branding

General guidance only. Always follow the care label on the supplied garment.

Buying advice

Buying tips

  1. 01

Decide what the jacket must protect against

Wind, light rain, air-conditioning or genuine cold each point to a different type. Matching the type to the use avoids staff overheating in a jacket built for European winters.

  2. 02

Do not confuse reflective detail with high visibility

Reflective piping helps at night, but it is not a certified high-visibility garment. For road or site work, specify high-visibility workwear with certification.

  3. 03

    Check sizing over the uniform

Jackets are worn over shirts or hoodies. Ask staff to try samples over their normal uniform before confirming sizes.

  4. 04

    Ask about care

Softshells and coated fabrics usually need cool washes and no fabric softener to keep their water-repellent finish. Make sure the care is practical for your staff or laundry.

FAQ

Corporate Jackets: frequently asked questions

Which jacket type is most useful in the UAE?

Softshells and fleeces are the most widely worn because they suit air-conditioned interiors and cooler months without being too warm. Padded jackets are mainly for cold storage and winter nights.

Are your jackets waterproof?

Water resistance varies by product. If it matters, ask for the specific garment's specification or test data; we will not describe a jacket as waterproof without it.

Can jackets be embroidered without leaking?

Embroidery creates needle holes. On waterproof shells, placement and construction are chosen to limit this; for lightly water-repellent jackets it is generally not an issue.

What is the minimum order for branded jackets?

Minimums depend on the jacket range, colour and branding, and are confirmed in your quotation.
